Past, Present and Future
The seasoned professional staff working in our collegiate sports
arena are trained to analyze and discuss your athletic insurance needs,
offer claims review and problem solving and work with you to initiate
or improve risk management techniques. Our group has the longest continuous
service involvement in student athletics insurance.
Since 1996, we have been a corporate partner with the National Association
of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the endorsed athletic insurance
services consultant for the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA).
In January 2005, two of the best resources for collegiate athletics accident
insurance joined forces – and “NACDA Insurance/NIRSA Insurance” in Salt Lake City
became part of the Summit America team. This venture enabled Summit to continue
the long tradition of corporate partnership and service to members of the National
Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) begun in 1969 and to members
of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) implemented in
1989. It also brought Summit into partnership with the National Alliance of Two-Year
College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA).
Continuing in this tradition, Summit America is now officially partnered
with the NCAA, Mutual of Omaha and American Specialty to market and administer
the NCAA Group Basic Accident Medical Program.
Our goal is to provide quality athletic insurance to colleges and universities
nationwide. To best serve the insurance and risk management requirements of our
accounts, we offer our combined experience in athletic-related insurance,
the professional skills and knowledge of our staff and that of our selected
insurance carriers and partners.
